Representation
-
Within the media industry there hasn’t always
been diverse representation of peoples within media. During early movies
representation of black peoples was trivialized by black face as a means of
showing another race besides white. In the current era a diverse splay of
people has been introduced with a variety of different character tropes that
have been newly analyzed and fabricated. Such character types have now become
more relatable to a greater audience not just to people of diverse races but to
people of different psychological and gendered backgrounds.
Language
-
The language of film has also evolved as film
has as well. The people who initially directed and created films didn’t use
terms or techniques that many film makers use today. Terminology has evolved as
film technology has progressed. New shot styles and methods of production have
progressed allowing for new shots that involve a vast array of post processing
and 360 shots that seamlessly pan around corners.
Industry
-
The film industry has been constantly expanding
to accommodate a larger audience as the audience gained access to film. This
has allowed film to expand to a greater array of people as new people began to
enter the world of film. Not just in the form of actors and actresses but
cinematographers, directors and producers who no longer have a confinement to a
specific cast of people who are like minded. Instead, everyone is now
conflicted and forced into creative cooperation which is reflected in the
quality and execution of many new films and TV shows that the populous watches
on the daily.
Audience
-
The sector of audience is intertwined amongst
all the 3 other categories, but the audience can also be very specific and
niche. You can aim for a general audience such as horror, fantasy, or drama but
insinuating a sense of familiarity draws a very distinct audience to watch a
movie. In the same sense one can make a movie intended to share a sense of
familiarity with a general populous in order to amass a large audience but
nothing ever truly appeases everyone thus film makers have to pick and choose
an audience.
